During the closing ceremony of the 14th International Conference of Ain Shams University, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, the university president, presented the university's shield to Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, in recognition of her outstanding efforts and active role in preparing for the conference and in serving the community and promoting sustainable development.
This honor underscores the pivotal role played by Dr. Ghada Farouk in supporting institutional work and strengthening the university's connection to community issues. She is considered one of the leading academic figures who have contributed effectively to developing the community service and environmental development system within the university.
The honor also reflects a distinguished career filled with achievements. She was the first woman to hold the position of Vice President of Ain Shams University for Community Service and Environmental Development, and in this role, she contributed to supporting numerous initiatives and activities that strengthen the university's role as an active national institution in achieving sustainable development.
She has received widespread recognition at both the national and institutional levels, and was honored by Mrs. Entissar El-Sisi during the "Egyptian Woman: Icon of Success" celebration organized by the National Council for Women, in recognition of her outstanding contributions and inspiring role model in academic and community work.
She has also received several prestigious awards, including the 2024 Middle East Award for Academic Excellence in Landscape Design, in addition to achieving first place in the National Urban Design Competition, reflecting her pioneering expertise in urban planning and development.
