The activities of the 14th Ain Shams University International Scientific Conference will begin today, Sunday, under the patronage of Prof. Abdel Aziz Qansouh, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and chaired by Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of the University, with the participation of the Vice Presidents of the University and Vice Presidents of the Conference: Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research and Executive Director of the Conference; Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Prof. Rami Maher Ghali, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, in the presence of a number of ministers and dignitaries, in addition to an elite group of scientists, experts and decision-makers.
Over two days, the conference will discuss a number of strategic issues related to comprehensive development, most notably water, food, and energy security; supporting innovation in the health and pharmaceutical sectors; and the role of digital transformation and artificial intelligence in developing education and scientific research and promoting entrepreneurship.
It will also highlight human capital development and building community awareness, maximizing the benefits of cultural tourism to support the national economy, as well as discussing the localization of industry, particularly industries that supply the automotive sector, the transition to electric vehicles, and the future of agricultural and technological industries.
The conference emphasizes the role of universities as key partners in achieving sustainable development by fostering integration between scientific research and societal needs, and by building effective partnerships with various state institutions.
Concurrently, the second day of the conference coincides with the launch of the fourth annual conference of the Scientific Society for Measurement and Evaluation of the Association of Arab Universities, under the theme "Multidimensional Assessment: Beyond Grades and Results."
