Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Ali El Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals, and with a high-level attendance that included Prof. Rania Salah El Din, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Tarek Youssef, Executive Director of Ain Shams University Hospitals, and Prof. Hussein Sayed, Director of the Internal Medicine Hospital, the activities of the twentieth conference of the Department of Clinical Pathology at Ain Shams Medicine were launched under the title “Shaping Tomorrow’s Diagnostics: Innovation in Laboratory Science”.

The conference was chaired by Prof. Yasser Ahmedy Zeitoun, Head of Department and Conference, with the participation of Prof. Rania Abu Shady, Conference Secretary, and a select group of faculty staff. The conference witnessed a major scientific gathering, attended by experts and professors of clinical pathology from the universities of Kasr El Aini, Fayoum, Alexandria, Zagazig, Assiut, Beni Suef, Benha, Helwan, Minya, Suez Canal, Menoufia, Al-Azhar, and Mansoura, in addition to representatives from the Military Medical Foundation and the Ministry of Interior.
The rich scientific program showcased the latest laboratory diagnostic techniques, artificial intelligence applications, and laboratory quality systems, generating significant interaction from the attendees.
Prof. Yasser Zeitoun also emphasized the significant construction and technological advancements the department is witnessing, including the imminent opening of the main blood bank and the emergency hospital laboratory, the accreditation of the laboratories at Al-Obour Hospital and Ain Shams Specialized Hospital by the General Authority for Accreditation and Health Control (GAHAR), and ongoing efforts to complete the accreditation of the Demerdash Laboratories by the Egyptian General Authority for Accreditation (EGAC).

In a gesture of appreciation, the event honored Prof. Magda Salah, Prof. Manal Zaghloul Mehran, Prof. Dalia Farag, and Prof. Mona Wahba in recognition of their scientific contributions.
The conference also featured a distinguished cultural segment with a lecture by Professor and novelist Osama Abdel Raouf El Shazly on the history of the Holy Land.
The conference concluded by reaffirming Ain Shams University's pioneering role in modernizing the medical diagnostic system and keeping pace with global advancements in laboratory sciences.
