The conference addressed the most prominent issues and recent recommendations in the field of cardiology. A range of complex and intricate clinical cases were presented, sparking rich scientific discussion on the diversity of treatment strategies. This fostered an atmosphere of critical analysis and constructive competition among the various participating medical schools. At the conclusion of the event, experts agreed on a set of strategic recommendations aimed at enhancing academic and clinical performance. Foremost among these was the necessity of strict adherence to the latest international guidelines in the diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery disease, particularly high-risk cases, along with expanding the use of advanced endoscopic imaging techniques to ensure accurate assessment and the success of catheterization interventions.
The conference also emphasized in its concluding recommendations the importance of activating the "Heart Team Approach" when making treatment decisions for patients with multiple arteries and valves, to ensure the selection of the optimal treatment path—whether conservative, interventional, or surgical—that prioritizes the patient's best interests.
The conference concluded its recommendations by stressing the need to continue organizing advanced workshops to train young professionals in complex techniques, while strengthening scientific and training collaborations between cardiology departments at Egyptian universities and teaching hospitals. This aims to unify perspectives and elevate the research and professional standards of cardiology in Egypt.
