The Board of Directors of the Nanotechnology Center at Ain Shams University convened its regular meeting under the chairmanship of Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, in the presence of Prof. Mohamed Nabil Sabry, Deputy Chairman of the Board, and Prof. Mohamed Abdel-Hai Ahmed, Director of the Center, with the participation of board members Prof. Diaa Khalil, Prof. Saad El-Sayed Hassan, Prof. Ashraf Bakry Abdo, and Prof. Tamer Abdallah Sharaf. The meeting was held within the framework of the Egyptian state’s orientation toward supporting applied research in advanced sciences.
The meeting featured extensive discussions on the final layout plan for the distribution of scientific equipment within laboratories and fully equipped rooms, with the aim of delivering leading research services characterized by the highest levels of efficiency. The Board also reviewed a comprehensive feasibility study focused on preparing specialized raw materials for medical research, contributing to the support of various sectors.
In support of student development, the Board examined mechanisms for engaging students of the Materials Science and Nanotechnology Program in utilizing the Center’s capabilities to conduct graduation project analyses, while emphasizing the importance of documenting the Center’s role in published research. The Board also approved a plan to provide affiliated researchers, technicians, and unit managers with official email accounts to enhance institutional workflow.
The meeting further addressed administrative and technical aspects through a review of policies and the selection of technical staff to be trained on the Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) and X-ray systems, with the aim of improving overall performance within the Center.
