Ain Shams University Hospitals recorded a strong medical performance throughout 2025, reflecting the scale of efforts exerted to deliver integrated healthcare services to hundreds of thousands of patients across the year, spanning a wide spectrum of medical and therapeutic specialties within the framework of the university medical city.
According to official statistics, the number of inpatient and one-day admission cases reached 128,893, while 739,048 patients were received by emergency departments and outpatient clinics. In addition, 36,993 surgical procedures were performed, alongside 34,033 intensive care cases and 5,867 cardiac, vascular, and cerebral catheterizations, underscoring the efficiency and readiness of medical teams.
Diagnostic and therapeutic services also posted notable figures, with 7,461,160 laboratory and pathology tests conducted, 220,974 diagnostic and interventional radiology examinations, and 89,944 echocardiography and electrocardiography cases. These were complemented by 7,621 endoscopic procedures and 3,852 nerve conduction and electromyography studies, reflecting the advancement of medical and technological infrastructure.
In the areas of chronic disease management and rehabilitation, hospitals recorded 53,038 dialysis sessions, 28,393 chemotherapy and radiotherapy sessions, and 20,191 physiotherapy sessions, in addition to 11,610 audiology and speech therapy cases and 12,459 psychiatry and intelligence assessment cases, highlighting the comprehensive scope of patient-centered services.
On the funding front, the overall budget amounted to approximately EGP 5.28 billion, supplemented by EGP 4 billion in support from civil society, demonstrating an integrated governmental–community effort to bolster the healthcare sector and enhance the quality of both therapeutic and educational services.
