The Secretary of the Commercial Studies Sector Committee: The New Bylaw for Faculties of Business Keeps Pace with Labor Market Needs and Enhances Training and Language Skills

Dr. Magdy Abdel Kader, Secretary of the Commercial Studies Sector Committee at the Supreme Council of Universities, stated that the committee is nearing completion of the new unified guiding academic bylaw regulating study at Faculties of Business nationwide, in preparation for its official approval and implementation in the upcoming academic year.

In a phone interview with the Ahl Masr program, Abdel Kader explained that the new bylaw is primarily based on the credit hours system, while maintaining the original four-year duration of study. He noted that the framework allows high-achieving students to complete their studies in a shorter period, down to three years, depending on their ability to fulfill the required credit hours.

He further indicated that the bylaw introduces substantial curriculum development through the inclusion of new courses aligned with technological transformations and labor market requirements. This includes strengthening instruction in English, expanding foreign-language tracks, and placing a strong emphasis on practical training as a core component in preparing commerce graduates for both local and international labor markets.
