As part of Ain Shams University’s commitment to supporting the system of production units and maximizing their role in community service and the development of self-generated resources, an expanded meeting was held for the directors of the production units, chaired by Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Community Service and Environmental Development.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Karim El-Batouti, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry; Prof. Farid Moharram, Dean of the Faculty of Business; and a number of vice deans for community service and environmental development, including Prof. Akram Farouk, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Prof. Walaa Hamed, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry; Prof. Ahmed Abu El-Yazid, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture; Prof. Shaimaa Sobhi, representative of the Faculty of Women; as well as Major General Hossam El-Sherbiny, Assistant Secretary-General of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development.
The meeting aimed to examine the obstacles and challenges facing production units across the various faculties, and to discussing mechanisms for enhancing their operational and administrative efficiency, in a manner that contributes to improving performance, strengthening sustainability, and achieving optimal utilization of available resources.
During the meeting, Prof. Ghada Farouk emphasized that production units represent one of the university’s vital arms in supporting community service and environmental development. She stressed the importance of removing obstacles, adopting practical and innovative solutions that keep pace with economic and administrative changes, and maximizing returns while maintaining the quality of services provided.
She added that the coming phase requires genuine integration among the various units, the development of work mechanisms, and capacity-building for their staff, to achieve the university’s developmental objectives and further enhance its societal role.
At the conclusion of the meeting, participants agreed on a set of practical recommendations to address the challenges discussed, while underscoring the importance of continuing to hold periodic meetings to follow up on implementation. This approach aims to ensure the development of the production units’ system at Ain Shams University and to enhance its efficiency in line with the university’s vision and future strategy.
