The Faculty of Law welcomes a delegation from the United Nations Global Compact Egypt initiative
The Faculty of Law at Ain Shams University welcomed a delegation from the United Nations Global Compact Egypt as part of its efforts to strengthen institutional collaboration and explore potential partnerships that support the Faculty’s academic and community-focused activities, with particular emphasis on sustainability, governance, and social responsibility.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Yassin El-Shazly, Dean of the Faculty of Law; Prof. Mohamed El-Shafie, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; and Dr. Noha Eissa, Lecturer of Public Law and Head of the Faculty’s Legal Clinic, along with members of the Legal Clinic team representing various law departments.
The United Nations Global Compact Egypt was represented by Ms. Walaa El-Husseiny, Executive Director of the Network in Egypt, alongside members of the communications, sustainability, and green programs teams.
The discussion featured presentations from both sides, highlighting the faculty’s role and the Legal Clinic’s contribution to community service and students’ practical skills development, while the Global Compact delegation outlined its mission, areas of work, and programs aimed at promoting good governance, corporate responsibility, and capacity building across different sectors.
Both parties also explored prospects for future cooperation, including joint workshops and training programs for law students, as well as collaborative research activities and initiatives designed to integrate sustainability and social responsibility concepts into legal education. Such cooperation aims to prepare legal professionals capable of addressing contemporary economic and social challenges in line with international standards.
The visit reflects the Faculty of Law’s commitment to expanding partnerships with international organizations, enhancing its societal role, and linking legal education with practical application, in line with Ain Shams University’s vision of supporting the Sustainable Development Goals and promoting a culture of responsibility and good governance.
