Ain Shams University is witnessing an advanced stage of effective international presence, under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of the University, within the framework of the international openness that the university is pursuing and expanding the horizons of cooperation with major academic institutions globally. In this regard, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, continues her official visit to the People’s Republic of China, where she participated in a series of high-level scientific meetings and events that reflect the growing status of the university on the map of Asian and international higher education.
During the first day's events, Her Excellency participated in the annual meeting of the Confucius Institute, held at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies in Guangzhou. The meeting alternates between Egypt and China.

The meeting reviewed the progress of the educational process, international examinations, cultural activities, and scientific exchanges, in addition to a comprehensive presentation of the achievements of 2025 and the proposed activity plan for 2026.
Professor Shan Minghao, Vice President of Guangdong University for International Cooperation, expressed the university's pride in its longstanding partnership with Ain Shams University, emphasizing the university's desire to enhance cooperation across various disciplines. Guangdong University comprises 26 faculties covering fields such as languages, economics, commerce, computer science, law, and arts, among others.
For her part, Prof. Ghada Farouk affirmed Ain Shams University's commitment to supporting the Confucius Institute, recognizing it as a vital bridge in Egyptian-Chinese cooperation. She highlighted its role in developing young Egyptian professionals proficient in the Chinese language and culture, thereby bolstering economic and scientific collaboration between the two countries.
Her Excellency stated, "Ain Shams University is committed to strengthening its international presence and building partnerships that facilitate the exchange of expertise and open new horizons for its students and researchers. Our collaboration with Guangdong University is a shining example of mutually beneficial cultural and scientific exchange."
She also noted that the university is striving to develop high-level programs in the fields of artificial intelligence, computer science, media, and business administration, in line with global advancements.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Nasser Abdel-Aal, the Egyptian director of the Confucius Institute, and Professor Wang Xiaohai, the Chinese director, who presented the work plan for the coming year.
Following the meeting, Prof. Ghada Farouk toured the university's faculties and learned about its educational facilities.
On the second day of her visit, Her Excellency participated in the opening session of the expanded meeting of universities that founded Confucius Institutes, in the presence of university leaders from Russia, Japan, Portugal, Peru, and Cape Verde. In her address, she emphasized the importance of deepening academic cooperation between Ain Shams University and international universities.
She also conducted a field visit to the GAC Group, an electric vehicle manufacturer, to learn about the latest Chinese technologies in electric vehicle engineering and technology.
On Friday, November 21, the university's vice president participated in the Asian Universities Conference, where she delivered a speech addressing industrial partnerships between industry and universities and the challenges and roadmap facing universities, emphasizing the importance of linking universities with industrial institutions.

Dr. Ghada Farouk also stressed that strengthening the partnership between industry and the university has become a necessity for building a competitive economy, noting that the roadmap faces challenges that require aligning education with market needs and developing students’ capabilities in modern technologies, and that cooperation with Chinese institutions represents an important step to support innovation and national industry.
On the sidelines of the conference, Her Excellency held a series of bilateral meetings with universities from Russia, France, Indonesia, South Korea, and China in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, Sichuan, Hong Kong, and Macau, with the aim of exploring opportunities for joint cooperation.
She also participated in Guangdong University's 60th anniversary celebrations, where extensive meetings were held with university leaders and deans to discuss expanding academic cooperation between the two sides, particularly in the fields of artificial intelligence, business administration, digital marketing, media, and other joint programs.
