In a festive atmosphere inspired by the grandeur of ancient Egyptian civilization, the Faculty of Education at Ain Shams University held its annual celebration to welcome international students. The event took place under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, University President; Prof. Safaa Shehata, Dean of the Faculty; Prof. Abdel Nasser Rashad, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research; and Prof. Hany Nady, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, with the supervision of Dr. Hanan Helmy Lateef, Director of the International Cooperation Unit.
This year’s celebration featured a distinct Pharaonic theme, with faculty students welcoming the delegations in Pharaonic attire, symbolically reflecting the glory of Egyptian civilization. The event also coincided with the nation’s celebration of the Grand Egyptian Museum opening, highlighting Egypt’s enduring role as a cultural and human hub throughout history.

The celebration was attended by representatives of various Arab and African embassies, including Dr. Shahab Al-Saadi, Cultural Advisor, Embassy of Oman, Dr. Madibo Mamadou Konate, Cultural Advisor, Embassy of Mali, Dr. Essam Ahmed Hassan, Cultural Advisor, Embassy of Sudan, Dr. Nora Al-Baqmi, Deputy Cultural Attaché, Embassy of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Iman Al-Housani, Technical Attaché, Embassy of the United Arab Emirates, and Dr. Salim Al-Talouli, University and Student Activities Officer, Embassy of Palestine
In her speech, Prof. Safaa Shehata emphasized that the celebration provides a genuine opportunity for cultural exchange and interaction between Egyptian and international students, highlighting the importance of listening to students’ and embassy representatives’ feedback to enhance academic and service programs at the faculty.
Prof. Abdel Nasser Rashad noted the faculty’s special attention to international students by facilitating academic and administrative procedures and providing a stimulating learning environment that supports scientific research and innovation.

Prof. Hany Nady highlighted the significant advancements in digital transformation, diversified teaching methods, and assessment approaches, aligning with the requirements of both local and international labor markets.
Prof. Hala Khalaf, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, discussed initiatives aimed at integrating international students with their Egyptian peers, emphasizing the university’s commitment to supporting them and strengthening their sense of belonging within the university community.
The event included a video presentation prepared by international students from various countries, expressing their happiness studying at the Faculty of Education. This was followed by a presentation by Dr. Mostafa Abdel Kader, Professor of Educational Foundations, titled “Egypt of Leadership,” highlighting the university’s history and the faculty’s role in advancing education and promoting culture.

The celebration concluded with a folkloric performance showcasing the heritage of more than fifteen countries represented by the international students, reflecting the cultural diversity and human unity within the faculty.
Outstanding students from various nationalities were honored, and special thanks were extended to Dr. Hanan Helmy Lateef and the student organizing team for their exceptional efforts, in the presence of department heads, unit directors, faculty members, and both Egyptian and international students, in an atmosphere filled with warmth, appreciation, and collaboration.
