As part of Ain Shams University’s commitment to promoting safety and civil protection awareness, the Faculty of Education carried out a model evacuation drill at the College Centers building. The drill was held under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Safaa Shehata, Dean of the Faculty, with supervision by Prof. Hala Mahmoud Mohamed Khalaf, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development.
The drill took place on Thursday, October 30, 2025, led by Mr. Adel Mohamed Abdel Latif, Director of the University Civil Defense, with the participation of the specialized team and in coordination with the College’s civil defense and security departments.
The exercise involved a full evacuation of the Faculty Centers building, which holds significant importance within the faculty’s infrastructure. The main objective was to raise awareness among students, faculty members, and staff about rapid response procedures and proper conduct during emergency situations.
The drill followed a preparatory workshop held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, supervised by the University Civil Defense and coordinated with the College Civil Defense team, ensuring the readiness of all participants. A comprehensive inspection of the building was also conducted to confirm compliance with all safety requirements and standards.
The evacuation began precisely at 11:00 AM, executed with high precision and efficiency, and supported by the full cooperation of students, faculty members, and staff. The drill was followed by practical training on the use of different types of fire extinguishers, supervised by the Civil Defense team, to provide participants with essential skills for fire prevention and response.
At the conclusion of the activity, the faculty administration extended its sincere thanks and appreciation to the University administration, Civil Defense, and all participants for their efforts in ensuring the success of the drill. The administration emphasized the importance of conducting such drills regularly to strengthen the culture of safety and preparedness, aligning with Egypt Vision 2030 and supporting the achievement of sustainable development goals.
The event concluded with the honoring of media professional Dr. Ahmed Abdel Nour, Mr. Adel Mohamed Abdel Latif, Director of the Civil Defense, and the specialized team: Mr. Samir Farouk Hassan, Mr. Sherif Abdel Monem El-Sayyad, and Mr. Abdel Ghafar Mohamed Fouad, in recognition of their outstanding efforts in planning and executing the drill and their dedication to promoting a culture of safety within the university community.
