In conjunction with World Thrombosis Day, observed annually on October 13, the Faculty of Medicine at Ain Shams University organized special awareness activities highlighting the risks of blood clots and ways to prevent them, under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University.

The event was attended by Prof. Ali El-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board, Prof. Tarek Youssef, Executive Director of the University Hospitals, the faculty vice deans, and Prof. Yasser Zeitoun, Head of the Clinical Pathology Department.
The activities focused on raising awareness about the dangers of thrombosis, as it is one of the leading yet preventable causes of death worldwide. Emphasis was placed on prevention and early diagnosis through regular physical activity, adequate hydration, and seeking medical advice promptly upon noticing symptoms.

The event also featured the participation of Prof. Neveen Ahmed Kassem, former Head of the Clinical Pathology Department and Director of the Egyptian Society of Hemostasis and Thrombosis. It was held under the supervision of Prof. Sahar Abdel Maqsoud, Head of the Hematology Unit, with the participation of several current and former department heads, university professors, and physicians from various specialties.
The day witnessed active participation from medical students, who presented educational segments and awareness competitions, in addition to distributing informative leaflets and booklets for children along with symbolic gifts — all aimed at promoting community and health awareness about thrombosis risks and the importance of prevention.
