Ain Shams University Students Win First and Second Place in Poetry and Drawing Competition at Ain Shams Confucius Institute

Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and under the supervision of Prof. Nasser Abdel Aal and Prof. Wang Xiao Hai, the Chinese Director of the Institute, the Confucius Institute at Ain Shams University organized the second edition of the Chinese Poetry and Painting Competition at the level of Egyptian universities.

The Students of Ain Shams University won the first and second place awards. A total of 28 contestants qualified for the final round of the competition, representing Ain Shams University, Cairo University, Alexandria University, Benha University, Suez Canal University, Sadat City University, Fayoum University, Kafr El Sheikh University, the Egyptian Chinese University, Horus University, the Higher Institute for Languages and Translation, and the New Cairo Academy.

         
   
         

Roa’a Mohamed Abdel Badi, a student at the Chinese Department, Faculty of Al-Alsun, Ain Shams University, won first place. Second place awards went to Sameera Essam and Sandy Ahmed, both students of the Chinese Department, Faculty of Al-Alsun, Ain Shams University. Third place awards were granted to Aya Yasser (Sadat City University), Logain Ahmed Ibrahim (Egyptian Chinese University), Lamia Mohamed El Sayed (Horus University), Eman Muna Khair Allah (Sudan, Egyptian Chinese University), and Fatma Abdel Rahman (Suez Canal University).

It is noteworthy that the Confucius Institute at Ain Shams University organizes various cultural activities and competitions throughout the year to enhance the language skills of its learners, in addition to the monthly Confucius Salon and the Summer Camp in China. These efforts come within the framework of the Institute’s role in strengthening cultural ties between the two friendly countries, Egypt and China.

         
   
         

The jury of the competition included Dr. Mona Sami Mohamed Hussein, Dr. Omar Yehia Ahmed, and Dr. Ahmed Wagih Kamal El-Din from the Faculty of Specific Education, Ain Shams University, along with three Chinese faculty members from the Confucius Institute.

The Institute’s administration extends its sincere congratulations to all the winners of the competition.
