The President of Ain Shams University chairs the fourth session of the Education and Student Affairs Sector Council

The Education and Student Affairs Sector Council was held at Ain Shams University, headed by Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, held its fourth session yesterday, Tuesday, March 19.

His Excellency began the Council by congratulating the attendees on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.

Where the Council discussed preparing for examinations and preparing a suitable environment for students, including seats and halls for examinations, with the need for coordination between faculties for examination schedules, and to preserve university resources, the university’s wooden stock was exploited to reuse it to manufacture wooden benches and chairs for students. This is in preparation for the examination work for the second semester to avoid renting supplies for the examination work.

The Council also recommended the necessity of providing an electronic system for student services for students’ easier and clearer access to the services available to them, as well as setting rules, laws and regulations for university students, including medical excuses for students in cases of illness, circulating the rules for electronic tests, in addition to attendance and absence regulations. Provided that a system is developed in a clear, simplified and concise manner to enable the provision of service to students and provide it online through the university’s website, which contributes to facilitating transactions and procedures for students and providing the necessary data and information that will help them in making sound decisions.

In implementation of the system of sustainable development and reducing the carbon footprint, which the state attaches special importance to, the President of the University directed the necessity of dealing electronically between colleges and various departments via e-mail, reducing paper dealing except when necessary, and using official electronic applications, in order to ensure ease of dealing and completing work faster, in addition to reducing the use of paper to preserve the environment.

Prof. Mohamed Diaa added that the university has taken a package of measures to make it easier for foreign students to enroll and study in the new colleges and programs and the credit hours they wish to study and to feel the high quality of education that characterizes Ain Shams University, while providing appropriate housing and distinguished academic courses for that, and it always seeks to increase the number of students at the university and provide support to them.

He praised the experience of the Faculty of Medicine in attracting a large number of international students to study, as well as the interest of foreigners in studying at the Faculty of Law, submitting proposals to attract foreign students, inventorying their academic results, and identifying any obstacles they face.
