The Faculty of Al-Alsun Organizes Workshop on Prompt Engineering and the Use of Artificial Intelligence in Scientific Research

Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University; Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research; and Prof. Youmna Safwat, Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun, the Faculty's Postgraduate Studies Sector organized a workshop entitled "Prompt Engineering for Scientific Research…Designing Academic Inputs and Guiding Artificial Intelligence."

The workshop was delivered by Prof. Eman Galal, Professor in the Department of Italian Language at the Faculty of Al-Alsun, and attended by faculty members, master's and doctoral researchers, and postgraduate students from various departments of the faculty.

The workshop explored the concept of Prompt Engineering and its importance in supporting scientific research. It introduced the essential components of effective prompts, different prompting techniques used to guide artificial intelligence tools, and methods for optimizing academic inputs to achieve more accurate and effective results.

The workshop also addressed strategies for minimizing AI hallucinations, emphasizing the importance of critically evaluating AI-generated outputs and verifying their accuracy and reliability. It also reviewed key tools used to detect AI-generated content.

The workshop reflects the Faculty of Al-Alsun's commitment to keeping pace with modern technological advancements and enhancing researchers' skills in using artificial intelligence applications responsibly and systematically, thereby supporting the quality of scientific research and improving academic outcomes.
