Ain Shams University Invites Faculty Staff and Researchers to Apply for the 50th King Faisal Prize 2028

As part of Ain Shams University’s commitment to fostering scientific, intellectual, and creative excellence, encouraging faculty staff, researchers, and innovators to compete for prestigious awards at the local, regional, and international levels, and strengthening the University’s presence and the contributions of its academic community in global scientific, intellectual, and cultural forums, the University, under the patronage of Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, announces the opening of nominations for the 50th King Faisal Prize for 2028.

The Prize recognizes outstanding achievements and contributions that have made a significant impact in their respective fields. The 2028 edition encompasses five main categories:

Prize Categories for 2028

•Islamic Studies: Muslim Heritage in Al-Andalus.

• Arabic Language and Literature: Arabic Literature from the Perspective of Comparative Studies.

• Medicine: RNA-Based Therapeutics.

Science: Life Sciences.

Service to Islam: An honorary prize awarded to individuals and institutions that have played a pioneering role in serving Islam and Muslims through intellectual, scientific, and social contributions.

Prize Value and Honors

The winner in each category will receive:

• A certificate of merit, written in Arabic calligraphy on premium-quality paper.

• A 24-carat gold medal weighing 200 grams.

• A cash prize of SAR 750,000, equivalent to USD 200,000.

Documents Required by Ain Shams University

Faculty members, researchers, and innovators wishing to be nominated are required to submit the following documents:

1-  An official nomination letter approved by the relevant faculty.

2- The nominee’s details include name, position, email address, and WhatsApp number.

3- A recent official employment status statement confirming that the nominee has no disciplinary penalties.

4- A statement outlining the grounds for nomination and the aspects of excellence demonstrated by the work or scholarly output submitted for the Prize.

5-  An updated curriculum vitae (CV).

Nomination Deadlines

To ensure that all nomination procedures are completed within the specified timeframe, applicants are requested to observe the following deadlines:

•Deadline for nominations submitted by faculties to the University: March 1, 2027.
• Deadline for nominees to submit their applications to the King Faisal Prize: March 31, 2027.
