Continuing its support for the healthcare system, Ain Shams University Hospitals signed a cooperation protocol with the National Bank of Egypt to support the completion of the new emergency hospital
Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, Mr. Mohamed El-Etreby, CEO of the National Bank of Egypt (NBE), and Prof. Ali El-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ain Shams University Hospitals, witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol between Ain Shams University Hospitals and the NBE to support the completion of the new emergency hospital at Ain Shams Medical City. This initiative falls within the framework of the bank's corporate social responsibility strategy, which prioritizes the health sector.
The protocol was signed by Prof. Tarek Youssef, Executive Director of Ain Shams University Hospitals, and Ms. Dina Abu Taleb, Head of Marketing and Community Development at the NBE.
Prof. Essam Fakhry Obeid, Deputy Executive Director of Ain Shams University Hospitals and General Manager of Demerdash Surgical Hospital, Prof. Ahmed El-Saeed, General Manager of the new emergency hospital, and the NBE's community development team, also present at the signing.

The cooperation reflects a successful partnership model.
Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen expressed his pride in the role played by the National Bank of Egypt in supporting the health sector and the university's health projects. He emphasized that the cooperation between the bank and Ain Shams University reflects a successful model of partnership between national institutions and contributes to the completion of one of the most important medical projects in Ain Shams Medical City. He added that the new emergency hospital at Ain Shams University Hospitals represents a qualitative addition to the healthcare system in Egypt, given its advanced medical equipment and modern capabilities that enhance its ability to receive critical and emergency cases.
The health sector is a priority in the bank's strategy
Mr. Mohamed El-Etreby stated that signing this protocol stems from the bank's national role and its commitment to supporting the state's efforts in developing the healthcare system. He pointed out that the health sector is at the forefront of the sectors receiving significant attention within the bank's corporate social responsibility strategy, given its direct impact on improving the quality of life for citizens and the medical services provided to them. He added that the bank's contribution of 400 million Egyptian pounds towards completing the construction of the new emergency hospital, which will finalize the hospital's construction and furnish it with medical equipment, represents an extension of the strategic partnership with Ain Shams University. This will contribute to providing advanced treatment services and supporting one of the largest university medical institutions in Egypt.
The new emergency hospital will bring about a qualitative leap in emergency medicine and critical care services
Prof. Ali Al-Anwar confirmed that the cooperation protocol with the National Bank of Egypt represents an important step towards completing one of the largest medical projects currently being implemented in Ain Shams Medical City. He pointed out that the new emergency hospital will bring about a qualitative leap in emergency medicine and critical care services, through the advanced infrastructure and medical equipment it will provide according to the latest international standards. He added that the support provided by the National Bank of Egypt reflects a genuine belief in the importance of partnership between state institutions and the national banking sector in developing the health system.
The emergency hospital is the largest project currently under construction within Ain Shams Medical City
Prof. Tarek Youssef added that this new collaboration reflects the National Bank of Egypt's commitment to supporting the healthcare system, including supporting Ain Shams University hospitals. Among these contributions is the completion of the new emergency hospital at Ain Shams University Hospitals, which is the largest project currently under construction within Ain Shams Medical City. It consists of seven floors and includes eight operating rooms equipped with a capsule system, in addition to an intensive care unit. It is planned to be equipped with approximately 1,500 medical devices, which will contribute to enhancing its ability to provide integrated treatment services according to the highest medical standards and to receive large numbers of critical and emergency cases.

For her part, Mrs. Dina Abu Taleb explained that the National Bank of Egypt is keen to direct its community contributions towards projects with a sustainable developmental impact, especially in the health sector. She noted that supporting the new emergency hospital comes within the framework of the bank's vision to strengthen partnerships with leading medical and educational institutions, contributing to the provision of advanced and sustainable healthcare services for citizens. She emphasized the National Bank of Egypt's continued support for the health sector, as part of the bank's corporate social responsibility strategy, which aims to support vital sectors, foremost among them the health sector, thereby contributing to enhancing the quality of services provided to the community.
