A Call for Faculty Staff, Teaching Assistants, and Researchers at Ain Shams University to Apply for Saleh Kamel Award for Islamic Economics (Second Round 2026–2027)
As part of Ain Shams University's commitment to advancing scientific research and encouraging faculty participation in prestigious academic awards, and under the patronage of Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, the University invites eligible faculty staff, teaching assistants, and researchers to apply for the second round of the Saleh Kamel Award for Islamic Economics (2026–2027).
The Award is one of the most prestigious honors in the fields of Islamic economics and Islamic jurisprudence of financial transactions. It aims to promote scientific research and innovation, with a total prize value of SAR 1 million, distributed across four award categories covering the best master's and doctoral theses, as well as outstanding scientific research.
Award Fields
Islamic Economics: Studies addressing economic issues from the perspective of Islamic Sharia while offering innovative solutions.
Islamic Economic Jurisprudence (Fiqh): Applied jurisprudential studies related to contemporary financial transactions.
Award Objectives
Promote scientific research and enhance its outcomes.
Foster innovation and creativity in the field of Islamic economics.
Increase distinguished scholarly output.
Discover and empower promising young researchers on the international stage.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must not be over 45 years of age.
The submitted work must not have previously received a similar award.
The submitted work must demonstrate originality and innovation.
For master's and doctoral theses, no more than five years should have elapsed since the thesis defense.
Applicants may not apply for more than two award categories.
Award Value
SAR 250,000 for each category, with a total prize fund of SAR 1,000,000 across four categories.
