Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, issued a decree appointing Prof. Amal Ahmed Morsi Ahmed, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Science for Community Service and Environmental Development, to manage the affairs of the Dean of the Faculty of Science, effective June 16, 2026, until a new Dean is appointed, in addition to her current duties.

It is worth noting that Dr. Amal Morsi was appointed as a teaching assistant in the Botany Department, the Faculty of Science, Ain Shams University, from 1991 to 1996.

She obtained her PhD in Botany from Ain Shams University in 2002, was promoted to the rank of Professor in the Botany Department in 2016, and was appointed Head of the Plant Ecology Unit in the Botany Department, the Faculty of Science, Ain Shams University, from 2021 to 2022. She also served as Head of the Botany Department Council, the Faculty of Science, Ain Shams University, from 2021 to 2024.

She has overseen the complete landscaping, maintenance, and hospitality facilities at Ain Shams University since 2023. She currently serves as the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Science for Community Service and Environmental Development, in addition to acting as Dean of the Faculty of Science at Ain Shams University.
