The Opening of the "Zaffran Colors" Exhibition

Coinciding with International Museum Day on May 18th, and celebrating the third anniversary of the opening of the Zaffran Museum, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, inaugurated the " Zaffran Colors" art exhibition. The opening was attended by Prof. Mamdouh El-Damaty, former Minister of Antiquities and General Supervisor of the Museum, Dr. Walaa El-Din Badawy, Director General of the Museum, and the renowned artist and photographer Sherif Ismail.

More than 25 artists are participating in the exhibition, which was attended by a distinguished audience of art and culture enthusiasts, as well as professors of art from Egyptian universities.

Prof. Ghada Farouk toured the exhibition halls, engaging in conversations with the artists about their artwork and the visions and creativity that reflect the richness of the Egyptian art scene.

         
   
         

Following the exhibition's opening, a seminar titled "Intangible Heritage and a Glimpse into the Heritage of the Gayer-Anderson Museum" was held. Presented by Mr. Hisham Khamis Mohamed, curator of the Zaffran Palace Museum and holder of a master's degree in heritage preservation, the seminar addressed the importance of intangible heritage and the role of museums in preserving cultural identity. Professor Mohamed highlighted the Gayer-Anderson Museum as a distinguished example in this field. The seminar also included an engaging presentation by the talented puppet designer, Nirvana Mohamed.

Attendees expressed their delight with the exhibition, the seminar, and the outstanding puppet show. They praised the organization and the rich cultural and artistic content, which reflects the civilizational and cultural role played by the Zaffran Palace Museum. The exhibition will continue until May 31, 2026.
