As part of Ain Shams University’s commitment to strengthening its community role and advancing the adult education and literacy system, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, chaired the Board of Directors meeting of the Adult Education Center. The meeting was attended by Dr. Islam El-Saeed, Director of the Center, along with board members including Prof. Safaa Shehata, Dean of the Faculty of Education; Prof. Ashour Omary, Professor of Educational Planning at the Faculty of Education; and Dr. Mahmoud Fayez Ahmed, Director of the University Information Network.
At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Ghada Farouk emphasized the vital role played by the Adult Education Center, praising its achievements despite various challenges and highlighting its ability to efficiently continue its training, community service, and academic activities since the COVID-19 pandemic. She noted that this success was achieved through the adoption of innovative solutions and the effective use of technology and digital tools in line with the state’s direction toward digital transformation and the development of the educational process.
The Board also discussed several issues related to administrative and financial development, as well as the logistical requirements necessary to enhance the Center’s operational efficiency. In addition, new ideas and visions were presented to maximize students’ potential and engage them in literacy eradication projects, contributing to stronger integration between the university and various community institutions, while supporting national efforts to address societal challenges and achieve sustainable development.
The meeting also reviewed a future vision aimed at revitalizing the Center’s efforts and expanding the scope of its activities and programs, further strengthening its role in community service and reinforcing Ain Shams University’s leading position in the field of adult education and literacy eradication.
