The Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun, Ain Shams University, opens the introductory meeting for the credit-hour programs for the new academic year

The Faculty of Al-Alsun at Ain Shams University organized an introductory day for the credit hour programs, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President of Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Nasser Abdel Aal, Vice Dean of Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hala Sayed Metwally, General Coordinator of Programs at the Faculty, in the presence of a group of department heads, faculty staff and the teaching assistants, and a number of students and their parents, with the application of all intensive precautionary measures.

Prof. Dr. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, confirmed that the Faculty has started distinguished programs since 2013 and the last was in 2021 in Spanish, Italian and German, noting that these educational programs aim to prepare cadres of professional translators in the fields of translation and interpretation and translation technology, capable of meeting the needs of the labor market at the local, regional and international levels, and the preparation of specialists to fill various jobs that require translation and interpretation skills, in addition to preparing cadres capable of contributing to the process of Arabization in scientific fields such as medicine, engineering, science, mathematics and others.

         
   
         

The Faculty of Al-Alsun announced a number of 8 distinguished innovative programs that apply quality standards and enhance research capabilities to qualify graduates, in order to become specialized researchers in the fields of language, literature and translation, the faculty aims to excel in language, literature and translation studies at the local, regional and international levels by following a system that combines science and innovation.

It also aims to prepare cadres of professional translators in the fields of translation and interpretation and translation technology, capable of meeting the needs of the labor market at the national, regional and international levels, and preparing specialists to fill various jobs that require translation and interpretation skills, in addition to preparing cadres capable of contributing to the process of Arabization in scientific fields such as medicine, engineering, science, mathematics and others.

Bachelor’s Program in Translation and Interpretation in English with a credit-hour system- Bachelor’s in Translation and Interpretation in French language Division of translation or translation and interpretation division- Specialized translation program in Chinese language- Arabic language and translation program for non-Arabic speakers with a credit-hour system- Distinguished translation program Oral in Russian - Specialized translation program in Italian - Specialized translation program in Spanish - Specialized translation program in German.

She also referred to the postgraduate programs with the credit-hour system, which are: the graduate studies program in translation and interpretation and translation technology with the credit-hour system, in addition to the joint master's program in translation between Ain Shams University represented by the Faculty of Al-Alsun and the University of Leipzig in Germany.

The date of the admission tests for new students revealed the credit hour programs for the academic year 2022-2023 from Sunday 18 September to Thursday 22 September as follows: English Language Program: Sunday 18 September Editorial Tuesday 20 September Oral Chinese Program: Monday 19 September French Language Program: Tuesday 19 September Spanish Program: Tuesday, September 20, German Program: Wednesday, September 21, Russian Program: Thursday, September 22, Italian Program: September 22.

During his speech, Prof. Dr. Nasser Abdel Aal, Vice Dean of Education and Student Affairs, at the induction day’s activities, stressing that the credit hour programs are in line with the inauguration of the new republic, and the establishment of all means of modern renaissance that the country is witnessing in accordance with the state’s 2030 strategy, stressing that the programs are specialized for teaching specialized translation in various fields, and target those The programs provide a distinguished service to the student through the laboratory equipment for the study of interpretation; With the aim of qualifying a new generation of qualified translators to be the link between Egypt and the advanced nations, so that we may draw from them the knowledge and sciences that help in the renaissance of the new Egyptian state.

He stressed that the education and student sector seeks to provide means of research, teaching and learning for students and to develop the scientific and personal skill aspects through electronic knowledge portals and student activities that refine the student's skills in all aspects.

Prof. Dr. Hala Sayed Metwally, General Coordinator of Programs at the Faculty, explained the difference between the semester system and the credit hour system, starting with the certificate for each of them; The faculty grants, by the semester system, a Bachelor of Al-Alsun degree in literature and language, while the faculty grants the credit hour student a Bachelor of Specialized Translation certificate, pointing out that the difference between the two certificates shows the extent of specialization and refinement of the translator to qualify him for a particular specialty.
