The President of Ain Shams University Honors the Faculty of Law Team for Winning Second Place Regionally in Price Media Law Moot Court

Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, honored the Faculty of Law team for winning second place in the Middle East regional rounds of the “Price Media Law Moot Court” competition organized by University of Oxford, qualifying them for the international finals scheduled to be held in the city of Oxford in mid-April. The ceremony was attended by Prof. Rami Maher Ghali, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Yassin El-Shazly, Dean of the Faculty of Law; and Dr. Ahmed Khalifa, Director of the Faculty’s International Cooperation Office.

   
   

During the ceremony, the university president praised the long-standing excellence of Ain Shams University, noting that it is the only university in the Middle East that has consistently qualified for the international finals since 2013. He emphasized that this achievement reflects the collective efforts of the Faculty of Law’s administration, led by Prof. Yassin El-Shazly and Dr. Ahmed Khalifa.

The team’s achievement extended beyond securing second place, as it also received several distinguished awards during the regional rounds held at the Faculty of Law in Cairo in February. These included the Best Memorials Award in the Middle East and the Best Speaker Award in the final round.

Notably, the Faculty of Law at Ain Shams University successfully hosted the regional rounds with the participation of 10 teams from across the region, under the supervision of an international judging panel comprising 30 judges from several countries, including Egypt, Tunisia, Jordan, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, the United States, Brazil, and the United Kingdom. This further reinforces the university’s position as a leading regional hub for practical legal education.
