Ain Shams University Documents a National Scientific Epic in the Construction of the Grand Egyptian Museum

President of Ain Shams University: Science Is the Primary Pillar of Progress

During the celebration, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, expressed his pride in the contributions made by the university’s scholars to this unique national project. He emphasized that the event goes beyond being a scientific or cultural gathering; rather, it serves as documentation of a national journey in which Ain Shams University, through its scientists and experts, played a vital role in one of the greatest cultural projects in modern Egyptian history.

The University President affirmed that the Grand Egyptian Museum not only embodies the grandeur of the past but also reflects the ability of the present to build and the vision to shape the future. He stressed that Ain Shams University has always been, and continues to be, an active partner in the national development process, believing that the role of universities extends beyond education and scientific research to include community service and direct participation in major national projects.

Ain Shams Scholars Took Part in a Scientific Epic to Be Remembered by Generations

Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen explained that the Grand Egyptian Museum represents a living model of the university’s national role, noting that faculty staff, particularly from the Faculty of Engineering, made precise scientific and engineering contributions. These included construction works and the transportation of massive antiquities, most notably the statue of Ramses II, in a scientific epic that combined technical precision with the grandeur of civilization and will remain etched in history for generations.

He also expressed his pride in the participation of distinguished scientific and archaeological figures, highlighting how engineering and archaeology came together to produce the Grand Egyptian Museum not merely as a building, but as a cultural, civilizational, and humanitarian message that reflects Egypt’s identity and global standing.
