Under the patronage of Prof. Rami Maher Ghali, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Education and Student Affairs, Ain Shams University participated in the activities of the training meeting for coordinators of the National Reading Project and general directors of Youth Welfare Departments at universities. The meeting was held at Al-Qarsh Camp in Ismailia Governorate, as part of the state’s efforts to promote a culture of reading and to build cognitive awareness among young people.

The university’s participation took place under the administrative supervision of Mr. Ibrahim Saeed Hamza, Assistant Secretary-General of the University for the Education and Student Affairs Sector.
Ain Shams University was represented at the meeting by Prof. Abdel Moneim Zaki, Ain Shams University Coordinator of the National Reading Project, and Ms. Asmaa Khater, Director General of University Youth Welfare. The meeting addressed mechanisms for activating the project within universities, strengthening the role of coordinators and Youth Welfare Departments in motivating students to participate actively, and linking reading to character building and the development of leadership skills.
During the meeting, Prof. Abdo Ibrahim, Director of the National Reading Project at the national level, praised Ain Shams University’s outstanding role in supporting the project, commending the high level of organization and preparation, as well as the unprecedented number of students registered from the university, reflecting students’ awareness and the effectiveness of the efforts exerted by the university leadership, project coordinators, and the Youth Welfare Department.
Participants affirmed that the National Reading Project is one of the leading national initiatives aimed at fostering a culture of lifelong learning, discovering young talents, and strengthening national belonging, in line with Egypt’s vision for human development and the achievement of sustainable development.
Ain Shams University’s participation underscores its pioneering role in supporting national initiatives and its commitment to integrating cultural and knowledge-based activities within the youth welfare system, contributing to the preparation of a conscious, cultured generation capable of creativity and effective community engagement.
