During the session, she discussed the acceptance of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center into the graduation project alliances of the Academy of Scientific Research to support 50 research projects with a total value of 5 million EGP, emphasizing that supporting research projects and transforming successful ones into startups contributes to tangible impact on the ground.
She highlighted that the electronic archiving system has been activated and applied across administrative offices, with paper-based transactions limited to specific cases, supporting digital transformation and enhancing institutional efficiency.
The session also addressed the importance of utilizing the Virtual Microscope Unit to strengthen the research system. Given the unit’s success and the digital platform for virtual slides in supporting education and considering that Ain Shams University is the first Egyptian university with a fully integrated digital infrastructure in this field, the council decided to expand the use of the Virtual Microscope Unit to directly support research, faculty members, and postgraduate students.
This decision includes enabling the use of the virtual microscope in scientific research, presenting cases at seminars and conferences, allowing researchers to scan entire slides at all magnifications, share them for peer review and scientific consultation, and utilize digital measurement and analysis tools, while ensuring slide preservation and staining for future reference. The goal is to transform the virtual microscope from an educational tool into a strategic research instrument that enhances scientific excellence, supports innovation, and raises the quality of research at the university.
The session also included several presentations and discussions on the research and scientific system across the university’s faculties.
