The University Council for Education and Student Affairs at Ain Shams University held its regular meeting on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, chaired by Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, University President, in the presence of council members, including deans, vice deans for education and student affairs, external council members, and Mr. Ibrahim Saeed, Assistant Secretary of the University for the Education and Student Affairs Sector.
Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen opened the session by thanking council members for their ongoing efforts in supporting the educational process.
During the meeting, the council approved the minutes of its previous session held on October 21, 2025, as well as the minutes of the council’s permanent committee meeting held on November 4, 2025.
The council discussed several agenda items, including the proposal from the Faculty of Nursing, El-Demerdash Technical Nursing Institute (meeting held on September 24, 2025) regarding a suggested mechanism to qualify students for graduation after completing their mandatory training period, by calculating a cumulative average for students at the technical nursing institute affiliated with the faculty.
Additionally, the council considered a proposal from the General Administration for Education and Student Affairs to include two services, (Card Certificate Issuance – Expedited Card Certificates), under the university’s graduate services on the UMS platform. Graduates would submit requests, which would remain pending until the General Administration staff respond, either approving or rejecting the request according to the certificate status (issued and delivered to faculties or not yet issued). The service for receiving card certificates was to be removed from faculty services on the UMS platform.
In this regard, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen emphasized the importance of continuously developing the student services system to align with the university’s digital transformation, facilitating procedures for students and graduates, and achieving the highest levels of administrative and academic efficiency.
The University President also recommended to Mr. Ibrahim Saeed Hamza, Assistant Secretary for Education and Student Affairs, to provide the necessary financial resources to support practical field trips for several faculties, Science, Archaeology, Agriculture, Girls, Arts, and Education. This was immediately actioned following the meeting, with the required resources secured (split between the general budget and special accounts) and the faculties duly notified.
The meeting concluded with Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen stressing the importance of continued collective efforts to develop the educational process, enhance student services, and create a stimulating university environment.
