Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rasha Allam, Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacology at the Institute of Medical and Clinical Research, National Research Center, presented the latest discoveries regarding the role of Exosomes in early diagnosis and targeted therapy. She explained that exosomes are extremely small nanometer-sized particles secreted by all body cells, serving as a means of intercellular communication. She also highlighted their promising potential in advancing personalized medicine and their future applications in cancer, neurological diseases, and stem cell research.
Dr. Allam emphasized the close relationship between exosomes and regenerative medicine, one of the newest trends in biomedical sciences, which aims to repair or regenerate cells and tissues by stimulating the body’s natural self-healing capabilities. She reviewed the growing role of exosomes in enhancing cellular regeneration, their use as promising therapeutic carriers, and their modern applications in promoting hair growth and accelerating wound healing.
The event witnessed distinguished attendance from faculty staff and students, featuring rich discussions on the research prospects in this vital field and its role in advancing future medical innovation.
