Ain Shams University announces the opening of applications for the 2025 Special Individual University Awards, aimed at recognizing outstanding faculty members in the field of physics, in accordance with the specific terms and procedures set for each award as follows:

First: Prof. Dr. Karimat Mahmoud El-Sayed Award

Date of Establishment: January 21, 2004. The award regulations were amended by University Council Resolution on December 2, 2024.

Award Field: Granted for the best research in physics that includes the study of crystalline or molecular properties of materials.

Eligibility Criteria:

The award is granted to the principal investigator, whether the research is conducted individually or in collaboration with others.

Applicants must belong to physics departments in the following faculties: Science – Education – Girls – Computers and Information.

Academic rank at the time of application: Lecturer.

Second: Prof. Dr. Hussein Abu Leila Award

Date of Establishment: December 26, 1994.

Award Field: Granted for the best research in physics by faculty members from the following faculties: Science – Girls – Education – Computers and Information.

Eligibility Criteria:

The award is granted for individual research in the field of physics.

The applicant may be part of a research team, provided they are the sole expert in specialization among the authors.

Academic rank at the time of application: Lecturer.

Third: Prof. Dr. Latifa Al-Houti Award

Date of Establishment: February 26, 1995.

Award Field: Granted for the best research in experimental physics by an Assistant Professor from physics departments in the following faculties: Science – Girls – Education – Computers and Information.

Eligibility Criteria:

The award is granted for individual research in experimental physics.

The applicant may be part of a research team, provided they are the sole expert in specialization among the authors.

Academic rank at the time of application: Assistant Professor.

Application Procedures for the Special Individual University Awards

Applications for the Prof. Dr. Karimat Mahmoud El-Sayed Award, Prof. Dr. Hussein Abu Leila Award, and Prof. Dr. Latifa Al-Houti Award must include the following:

Proof of registration on the university awards database.

A printed and electronic copy of the published research.

An official list of all authors, their specializations, and their individual contributions to the research.

Department and faculty council approvals for the nomination.

A recent official status report of the applicant issued by the university.

Recent personal photographs of the applicant.

A copy of the applicant’s National ID.

Applicant’s contact information.

Deadline for receiving nominations: Thursday, December 18, 2025

Final deadline for application submission: Wednesday, December 31, 2025
