Ain Shams University welcomes Dr. Luciano Saso, Professor of Pharmacy and Medicine at Sapienza University of Rome, Italy
Under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, received Prof. Rehab Osman Ahmed Mohamed, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Rola Melad Labib, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Italian Professor Luciano Saso, Professor of Pharmacy and Medicine at Sapienza University of Rome, Italy. 
The visit was also attended by Prof. Sherweit El-Ahmady, Director of the International Students Department and Representative of the International Relations and Academic Cooperation Sector, and Prof. Maha Nasr, Executive Director of the Academic Collaboration and International Relations Sector at the Faculty of Pharmacy.
Dr. Amany Osama Kamel praised the visit, emphasizing the importance of strengthening academic and research cooperation between the two universities and leveraging international expertise.
Prof. Rola Melad Labib highlighted the university's efforts to strengthen, expand, and maintain continuous communication with international universities to exchange scientific expertise, discuss ways to support joint programs, and expand opportunities for student and faculty exchange, which would contribute to the development of the educational and research process. 
Professor Luciano Saso emphasized the importance of the visit, aiming to establish the nucleus of a lasting and fruitful partnership through the promotion of research, scientific exchange, and the signing of joint research agreements between the two sides.
On the sidelines of the visit, Professor Saso delivered a lecture entitled "Pharmacological Modification of Oxidative Stress," its causes, and the diseases it causes. He highlighted complex clinical trials on antioxidants and discussed the latest biological developments related to numerous diseases and therapeutic applications, leveraging his extensive experience in leading international research projects and evaluating research for scientific institutions.
A panel discussion was also held on the sidelines of the visit to explore avenues of cooperation and develop a plan for research collaboration and joint projects between the two universities, with the aim of benefiting faculty staff, teaching assistants, and student researchers.
