Under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, received a high-level academic delegation from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (HKPoU). The visit aimed at discussing ways of cooperation in academic and research fields and exchange of expertise between the two universities.
The visiting delegation included Prof. Jeffrey Shen, Vice President of HKPoU, and Ms. Jessica Lo, Director of the International Partnerships Office.

The meeting was attended from Ain Shams University by Prof. Mohamed Ragaa El-Satohy, Dean of the Faculty of Science; Prof. Sahar Moussa, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing; Prof. Farid Moharam, Dean of the Faculty of Business; Prof. Amr Abdel Salam Shaat, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Prof. Sherweit El-Ahmady, Director of the International Students Department and Acting Executive Director of the International Relations Sector; and Dr. Ahmed El-Banna, Director of the International Classification Department.
Prof. Amany Osama Kamel expressed her happiness with this visit, emphasizing that it reflects the two universities' commitment to promoting global knowledge through fruitful academic and research cooperation. She explained that the university places great importance on building international partnerships that contribute to raising the quality of academic, research, and scientific production and open new horizons for innovation and excellence.

Her Excellency pointed out that PolyU enjoys a prestigious position in the fields of applied sciences, engineering, healthcare, and innovation, while Ain Shams University has a long-standing legacy of scientific research, medical sciences, and community service. This provides a strong foundation for cooperation on joint research projects, faculty and student exchanges, joint supervision of master's and doctoral theses, as well as applying for international grants and publishing joint research in prestigious journals.
She emphasized that this visit represents the beginning of a long-term strategic partnership between the two institutions, benefiting the educational and research systems on both sides.
For his part, Prof. Jeffrey Shen spoke about his university's aspirations to enhance cooperation with Ain Shams University as a distinguished academic partner in the Middle East, particularly in the fields of artificial intelligence, sustainable engineering, advanced nursing, and applied sciences. He also presented an overview of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), one of the world's leading applied universities, and a pillar of innovation in technical education and applied research since its founding in 1937. Its vision revolves around integrating theoretical knowledge with industrial applications. The university maintains strategic partnerships with more than 600 institutions in 50 countries, positioning it as a knowledge bridge between Asia and the world.
The attendees discussed avenues of cooperation between the two universities in several scientific and research fields. An overview of Ain Shams University's scholarship programs, including its diverse fields and programs such as engineering, law, and medicine, was also presented, along with statistics on international partnerships between universities and global organizations, as well as centers of excellence, innovation, and training.
