A successful evacuation experiment at the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences

The Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences, Ain Shams University, conducted a successful evacuation experiment for the faculty building, in coordination with the University’s Civil Defense Department, on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain Al-Abedeen, President of the University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Prof. Nagwa Badr, Dean of the Faculty, and supervised by Prof. Tamer Mostafa, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service Affairs and Mr. Mohamed Al-Gohary, Secretary of the Faculty, Civil Defense Administration, Faculty Security, and coordination of Mr. Adel Mohamed Abdel Latif, Director of the University's Civil Defense Department, and an ambulance was on full readiness in anticipation of injuries.

         
   
         

The evacuation process took about four minutes, as the evacuation team made sure that there were no obstacles in the escape corridors and emergency stairs, then sirens were sounded in preparation for the complete evacuation of the building, and the evacuation team entered to direct those in the building to the emergency stairs and warn them not to rush, and guide them to the places Safe (assembly points) that have been identified in advance, and ensure that the building is completely empty.

The evacuation experiment was completed successfully and without any casualties, as each member of the evacuation team fully performed his duty, and those in the building cooperated with the team. This resulted in the experiment being completed in just less than four minutes.
