The workshop aimed to create a realistic model simulating the company's factory, with the aim of developing students' skills in engineering design and the use of manufacturing machines. Digital, in addition to training them to handle real industrial materials used in manufacturing models presented to clients. This comes within the framework of preparing them to work on realistic industrial projects that embody the integration of academic aspects and professional application.
The workshop included two main phases. The first phase was an intensive training program, beginning with an introductory lecture, followed by a field visit to the El Sewedy Cables factory. The four-day training included practical training on 3D printing techniques and the use of laser cutting machines. At the conclusion of this phase, students-built prototypes simulate the design of the first part of the factory. This phase served as training experience and practical test for the teams, based on which the best participants were selected to participate in the second phase, which included the construction of a complete model of the factory in direct collaboration with the company's engineers.
