The President of Ain Shams University receives a delegation from Essex, Britain, to discuss ways of cooperation

Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, received a delegation from the British University of Essex, including Dr. Vanessa Potter - Global Vice President Dr. Anisi Lax - Dean of Partnerships (Education), Rozanna Kailani, Regional Director (Pakistan and Central Asia), and Hassan Abdul Rahim, Director of International Recruitment (North Africa, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait), to discuss ways of cooperation between the two sides.

Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen welcomed the attendees, and His Excellency gave an introductory presentation about the university, its various faculties and hospitals, confirming the long history of Ain Shams University, which is one of the oldest Egyptian universities, deriving its name from the ancient Egyptian University of On.

         
   
         

He touched on the faculties and programs that have received international accreditation from: faculties of pharmacy, dentistry, medicine, and engineering, and dual degrees between the university and many prestigious universities and international cooperation agreements with many international universities and institutions.

He also referred to the university's many centers of excellence, the university's efforts in digital transformation, its endeavors within the framework of the transformation into fourth-generation universities and the university's innovation departments, and its interest in bridging the gap between industry and education by providing qualified graduates to the labor market that meet its needs.

His Excellency also touched on the university hospitals, which include 11 hospitals, and 6 medical centers with a capacity of 4,000 beds that receive more than one and a half million patients annually, and also the virtual hospital, which provides its services in more than 16 specialties.

         
   
         

Prof. Mohamed Diaa explained that the university is distinguished in the field of scientific research and international publishing, and a number of university scientists are included in Stanford’s list of the top 2% of scientists in the world.

In her speech, the Vice President of the University of Essex explained that the University of Essex is distinguished by its diversity and multiculturalism, as students from different countries of the world study there, in addition to the university signing cooperation agreements with many countries, and the university looks forward to more cooperation with universities in the Arab region,

She expressed her happiness in cooperating with Ain Shams University, which has a distinguished international reputation.

         
   
         

She added that the University of Essex is characterized by diverse and distinguished educational programs in multiple fields, and that the university is keen to cooperate with Ain Shams University in various fields.

This was followed by a tour of the delegation to the main campus of the university, where the delegation visited the Networks and Information Technology Center, the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences, and the Zaffran Museum.
