The Dean of the Faculty of Arts presents a free workshop entitled “Professional Ethics” for faculty employees

The Faculty of Arts, at Ain Shams University, resumes for the second day in a row free workshops for members of the administrative staff and faculty employees to raise and develop their skills and competence, under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, Prof. Hanan Kamel, Dean of the Faculty, under the supervision of Dr. Howaida Abdel Hamid, Director of the Faculty’s Quality Assurance and Accreditation Unit, Dr. Bahaa Ibrahim Abdel Hafez, Assistant Professor, at the Department of Libraries and Information.

Prof. Hanan Kamel, Dean of the Faculty, held a workshop entitled “Professional Ethics,” during which he discussed the rights and duties of administrators and how to develop oneself.

         
   
         

She stressed that the progress of departments and raising the efficiency of government institutions is based on main axes and factors, the most important of which is the moral responsibility of faculty employees, referring to the concept of the word morals, and that all heavenly religions urge us to enjoy morals that include legislation, worship, and beliefs. Emphasizing that "religion is treatment" and that the person is his own watchdog and that the work he does is devoted to meeting the needs of people, whether a colleague or a member of the public, so he must take into account the duties, rights and laws that coordinate the relationship between him and his colleagues at work or the public represented by (students and parents).

Prof. Hanan Kamel confirmed that the faculty is committed to implementing the instructions of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s initiative to develop government institutions and implement electronic digital transformation to reduce the burden on citizens and make their affairs easier.

She also pointed out that applying the principles of respect, sincerity, affection, and abandoning personal whims and courtesies that threaten the public good is one of the most important pillars of the advancement of the faculty, and managers must pay attention to these points when evaluating the performance of employees, in a fair manner and based on principles and standards. She pointed out that the employee’s sense of responsibility makes him keen to investing time and not spending it doing other work.

She pointed out the importance of being sincere and accepting work in faculty as a mission and not just as a job, independent of personal desires and ambitions.

At the end of the workshop, Prof. Hanan Kamel asked questions about the extent of job satisfaction among the attendees, received suggestions for developing the faculty, and stressed that the faculty seeks to commit to implementing this ethical charter with a set of procedures.
