The President of Ain Shams University opens the 11th International Conference of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences

This morning, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zein El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Nagwa Badr, Dean of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences, opened the activities of the eleventh annual international conference organized by the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences at Ain Shams University, entitled “Intelligent Computing and Information Systems,” in the presence of Prof. Muhammad Awad Tag El-Din, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Health and Prevention Affairs, Prof. Ahmed Zaki Badr, former Minister of Education and Local Development and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of October 6 University, Prof. Eman Tharwat, Chairman of the Computer and Information Sector Committee, Professor Hassan Abdullah, Academic Director of the University of East London, and Prof. Rasha Ismail, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Vice President of the Conference, and Prof. Hala Mushir, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Tamer Mostafa, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development, and a group of conference guests from Egypt and a number of foreign countries, representatives of many international companies working in the field, professors, researchers, and students.

In his opening speech, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zein El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, said that computer science has become a pivotal and indispensable science in various fields of life, and that its applications have been able, within a few years, to change the style and nature of daily life, starting from simple uses until integration into the fields of industry, medicine, engineering, and other vital sectors that have a significant impact on the progress of societies and the renaissance of countries.

He added that the rapid development taking place in the fields of computer science calls for the need for continued focus on the two poles of inventions and scientific research and the returns from merging them to ensure the continuation of the wheel of development.

For her part, Prof. Nagwa Badr, Dean of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences at Ain Shams University and President of the Conference, stressed the need to enhance the role of computing and artificial intelligence in building a sustainable future, in light of the fact that computer science constitutes a major axis in the modern era that enhances the capabilities of societies to understand and analyze data and provides enormous potential that contributes to the renaissance of nations and Peoples Progress, pointing out that the conference organized annually by the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences is not just a platform for displaying and publishing research, but rather it is a global scientific forum that brings together the brightest minds in the field from various countries of the world, including Japan, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Egypt, and others. of countries; To discuss and exchange experiences and find out what is new and innovative.

She pointed out that the most prominent feature of this year's conference is the presence of an exhibition held on the sidelines of the conference that includes a number of major international companies working in the field, which provide training and employment opportunities for students and graduates in a way that supports the college's philosophy of integrating education with industry and linking scientific research to the labor market.

Prof. Rasha Ismail, Vice Dean of the College for Postgraduate Studies and Research and Vice President of the Conference, reviewed the most prominent topics discussed at this year’s conference. Over two consecutive days in 15 sessions, the conference discusses more than 83 research papers in the fields of artificial intelligence and multimedia, robotics and embedded systems, computer networks, forensics, and cybersecurity, Internet of Things, smart environments and computing, data science and knowledge discovery, bioinformatics, health informatics and biomedical systems, software engineering, artificial intelligence and its applications.

This year's conference also includes three workshops presented by six speakers from both academia and industry.

The opening keynote lecture of the conference was delivered by Professor Hassan Abdullah, Academic Director of the University of East London, on artificial intelligence and its applications in many fields, especially its connection to climate change.

The opening session concluded by honoring the conference guests from Egypt, participating countries, official sponsors, and representatives of international companies participating in the conference.
