Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, accompanied by Prof. Abdel-Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, opened, this morning, February 23, the activities of the International Cultural Day, which is organized by the Sector International Relations and Academic Cooperation at Ain Shams University, with the participation of the University Students Union and Family for Central Egypt, under the supervision of Prof. Shahira Samir, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Cooperation Sector, and Prof. Sherweit Al-Ahmadi, Director of the University's Expatriate Department, on the main campus.

The launch of the activities of the festival was witnessed by the ambassadors of Saudi Arabia, Libya, Indonesia,Venezuela, Bangladesh, India, a number of cultural advisors, representatives of embassies, deans, agents, directors of centers, faculty members and students.

In his speech, Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of the University, welcomed the guests, pointing out that about 10,000 male and female students from 77 countries are studying at Ain Shams University, which indicates the quality of education provided at the university at the level of undergraduate and postgraduate studies in education, scientific research, innovation and creativity.

He added that this year's celebration is attended by students from 31 countries, thanking all those in charge of the festival and those who contributed to its honorable exit in light of the great turnout of university students. He especially thanked the international cooperation sector, praising the effort made by Prof. Sherweit Al-Ahmadi, Director of International Students Department.

The university president emphasized that such activities achieve harmony, cohesion, exchange of cultures and visions between different cultures, and acceptance of the other to the fullest extent.

Prof. Abdel-Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, emphasized that integration among students is very important, which prompted the current university administration to integrate expatriates into the various activities organized by the university, and expatriate forums bring together all university students, which creates a merger between them and the university. Their peers of different nationalities in study and activities.

He expressed his pride in the presence of students of different nationalities at Ain Shams University, a five-star university according to the QS classification, stressing that Egypt has always been a land of convergence of all cultures and Ain Shams University represents a living model for full coexistence in all student and academic activities between Egyptian students and 77 nationalities in wonderful harmony.

In her speech, Prof. Shahira Samir, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Cooperation Sector at the university and supervisor of the festival, confirmed that the festival comes within the framework of Ain Shams University's keenness to consolidate the university's role as one of the cultural tributaries in society, and not only as a place for science, research and study, emphasizing the convergence it creates such as These events between peoples, through the participating countries reviewing their cultures, clothes, food and folklore, and thanked those in charge of this special day.

Prof. Sherweit Al-Ahmadi, Director of the International Students Department, explained that this year's activities witness the launch of the "Ain Shams University Passport", which enables participants in the festival to pass through exhibitions and enter a competition with symbolic gifts offered by the university.

Also, for the first time, the events include the possibility of taking a free commemorative self-portrait against the background of the Zafaran Palace, Photo Poses.

The activities included a flag display and an exhibition of the participating countries organized by students from Egypt, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Libya, Mauritania, Oman, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, UAE, Yemen, Mali, Nigeria, Senegal, South Sudan, Tanzania, Bangladesh, China, India, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Malaysia, Bolivia, Panama, Spain, Venezuela.

A group souvenir photo was also taken for the attendees, artistic performances were presented to the various communities, and cultural competitions were presented. Certificates of honor were also distributed to a number of outstanding expatriates, and professors participating in translating and teaching Arabic to non-native speakers were honored.
