The Faculty of Archeology, Ain Shams University, organized a trip for students of the Children's University to the Cultural Center for Water Sciences and the Irrigation Museum, as part of the activities of the Children's University, which are organized by Ain Shams University during the period from January 28 to February 11, 2023, in cooperation with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, and the International Relations and Academic Cooperation Sector at Ain Shams University, in coordination with Dr. Noha Al-Rafei, coordinator of the Children's University at Ain Shams University, Prof. Mamdouh El-Damaty, former Minister of Antiquities, Prof. Abdel-Razek Al-Najjar Professor of Restoration and Heritage Sciences, Prof. Ahmed Naqshara, Assistant Lecturer of the Department of Archaeological Sites, Coordinators of the Children's University, Faculty of Archeology, and under the supervision of Mrs. Rana Hani Abdel Hamid, Mrs. Heba Helmy Mohamed, Mrs. Maha Ahmed Mohamed, Mrs. Rasha El-Sayed Mahmoud, coordinators of the Water Sciences Center and the Irrigation Museum.

The children toured the museum and learned through the scientific trip about the Cultural Center for Water Sciences and the Irrigation Museum in the Charitable Aqueducts. They also visited the Cultural Center for Water Sciences and learned about the history of the establishment of the center and its importance, and introducing the children to the most important sciences related to water and irrigation methods, and the children practiced many special experiments With levers, light, motion, mass and physics applications, in addition to visiting the irrigation museum and learning about its origin and importance, as well as learning about the history of irrigation systems and their development from the Pharaonic times until now, and learning about the history of the charitable barrages and the purpose of their construction and method of work.

The day concluded with the presentation of a recorded lecture in the conference hall of the Al-Rai Museum by Prof. Mamdouh El-Damaty, former Minister of Antiquities, in which he dealt with the most important features of the ancient Egyptian civilization and its role in the development of various sciences, followed by brainstorming and a scientific competition on the most important topics of the lecture with the distribution of gifts to the outstanding children. This activity was carried out by the Professor. Ahmed Naqshara, Assistant Lecturer, Department of Museums and Archaeological Sites Management, at the Faculty of Archeology, at Ain Shams University, and coordinator of the scientific visit.
