Ain Shams University invites female faculty members and researchers to apply for the 2026 L'Oréal-UNESCO for Women in Science program
In support of and to empower Egyptian women in scientific fields, and under the auspices of Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Graduate Studies and Research, Ain Shams University announces – based on the directives of the Supreme Council of Universities – the opening of applications for the 2026 L’Oréal-UNESCO for Women in Science Fellowship Program.
The program aims to promote the participation of outstanding young female researchers in various scientific fields and to recognize distinguished research achievements in a number of scientific disciplines, thereby contributing to the advancement of scientific research and the empowerment of women in science.
The program encompasses a wide range of scientific fields, most notably:
• Life Sciences: including biology, biochemistry, biophysics, genetics, physiology, neuroscience, biotechnology, ecology, and behavioral science.
• Physical and Engineering Sciences: including physics, chemistry, petroleum engineering, mathematics, engineering sciences, information science, and earth and space sciences.
This year, the program offers grants to outstanding Egyptian female researchers at the doctoral and postdoctoral levels, recognizing their research achievements and encouraging them to pursue distinguished careers in science.
General Eligibility Requirements
• The nominee must be an Egyptian citizen and employed at the university within Egypt.
• For Postdoctoral candidates: The applicant must be no older than 45 years of age.
• For PhD candidates: The applicant must be no older than 35 years of age.

• Nomination letter approved by the faculty. • Nominee's contact information (name, position, email address, WhatsApp number). • Recent academic transcript. • Justification for nomination. • Proof of application to the university's awards database.
