Prof. Hanan Kamel, Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Ain Shams University, received a high-level delegation from her counterpart at Imam Ja'far Al-Sadiq University to discuss avenues for joint academic cooperation between the two sides.
The meeting was held under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, and Prof. Hanan Kamel, Dean of the Faculty of Arts. It brought together a distinguished group of academic leaders, including Prof. Saad Sabit Al-Matrani, Professor of Psychiatry, Secretary-General of the Iraqi Psychiatric Association, and Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Imam Ja’far Al-Sadiq University; Associate Prof. Ashraf Mowafaq Faleh, President of the Iraqi EMDR Psychotherapy Association, Head of the Clinical Psychology Department, and Dean of the Faculty of Education at the same university.

Prof. Hanan Kamel welcomed the Iraqi delegation, emphasizing that the Faculty of Arts at Ain Shams University firmly believes in the importance of openness to Arab academic experiences and the exchange of expertise, to advance educational and research programs. She noted that cooperation with Imam Ja’far Al-Sadiq University represents a promising step toward building sustainable academic partnerships that enhance the presence of Arab knowledge in international academic forums.
She also introduced the Iraqi delegation to the faculty, highlighting its long-standing history, diverse academic departments, and its role in supporting scientific research and advancing humanities studies, as well as its distinguished academic programs that keep pace with modern developments.
For his part, Prof. Saad Sabit Al-Matrani provided an overview of Imam Ja’far Al-Sadiq University, outlining its establishment, development, key faculties and disciplines, and its vision for supporting scientific research and graduating qualified cadres across various humanities and applied fields. He expressed his appreciation for the meeting, praising the prestigious academic standing of Ain Shams University, and affirming IJSU’s aspiration to expand cooperation with the Egyptian side and benefit from its leading expertise in developing academic programs, particularly in the humanities.
He further emphasized the importance of fostering promising academic and institutional prospects aimed at preparing qualified graduates capable of engaging in university teaching, translation, and publishing, while strengthening sustainable academic collaboration between the two institutions, optimizing the use of scientific resources, and promoting integration between Egyptian and Iraqi expertise.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the faculty presented a commemorative shield to the Iraqi university, while the Iraqi delegation presented an engraved artistic piece symbolizing Iraqi national icons to the Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Ain Shams University. Professor Dr. Hanan Kamel also presented copies of the Faculty’s Diamond Jubilee book, followed by commemorative photographs capturing a cordial moment that reflected the spirit of future cooperation between the two institutions.
