As part of supporting and promoting the preservation and accessibility of documentary heritage, and under the patronage of Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Ain Shams University, based on a communication received from the Secretariat of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, announces that the Egyptian National Commission for Education, Science and Culture has opened nominations for the 11th edition of the UNESCO/Jikji Memory of the World Prize, which is awarded biennially with a value of USD 40,000.
The prize aims to honor individuals and institutions that have made outstanding contributions to the preservation and accessibility of documentary heritage, within the framework of the “Memory of the World” Program.
Application Deadlines:
International deadline: April 15, 2026
Deadline for receiving nominations from university faculties: April 12, 2026
Faculty staff and researchers wishing to apply through Ain Shams University are kindly requested to submit the following documents to the General Administration of Cultural Relations – Awards Office:
* An official nomination letter endorsed by the faculty
* Applicant’s details and contact information (name, position, email, WhatsApp number)
* A recent status statement
* Justification for nomination
* Proof of submission via the prize’s official website
