Chaired by the Vice President for Graduate Studies… the Mechanisms for Operating the Nanotechnology Center were discussed

The periodic meeting of the Board of Directors of the Nanotechnology Center at Ain Shams University was held at the center's headquarters, chaired by Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research. The board discussed several important topics aimed at completing the center's infrastructure and activating its research and service activities in the coming phase.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Mohamed Nabil Sabry, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors; Prof. Mohamed Abdel-Hay Ahmed, Director of the Center; and board members Prof. Saad El-Sayed Hassan, Prof. Ashraf Bakry Abdo, Prof. Tamer Abdullah Sharaf, Pro. Sahar Mohamed Omar, and Prof. Rania Aziz.

At the outset of the meeting, Prof. Amany Osama Kamel welcomed Prof. Rania Aziz, Professor of Pharmaceutics and Industrial Pharmacy, to the Board of Directors, praising her distinguished scientific expertise in nanotechnology and the valuable contribution she can make to the research work within the center.

The meeting addressed several organizational and technical matters, including the mechanisms for distributing and appointing technicians within the center according to the needs of the various laboratories and equipment, with an emphasis on selecting qualified technical personnel to operate the advanced equipment.

The possibility of providing opportunities for Master's and PhD students from the faculties of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science, and Engineering to train and conduct research within the center was also discussed, with the aim of supporting the research process and developing the skills of young researchers.

In this context, Prof. Amany Osama Kamel proposed issuing an internal advertisement to select technicians to work at the center, specifying the required basic technical specifications. Each person responsible for a piece of equipment would then submit their nominations for the technicians needed to operate it efficiently.

The council also discussed the progress of receiving and installing the center's equipment in its designated laboratories and rooms, ensuring its operational readiness in the coming period.

Furthermore, the center's official email address was activated on the Supreme Council of Universities' website, a step that supports institutional communication and enhances the center's presence at the academic level.

The council discussed the actual commencement of the research and scientific services offered by the center, along with the establishment of financial regulations governing the use of equipment and various services.

In a related matter, the council reviewed a proposal to prepare an introductory and informational brochure for the center. This brochure would outline the center's vision, services, and research capabilities, as well as the division of tasks among the various laboratories. The council also discussed developing a comprehensive framework for the brochure's contents to effectively explain the center's role and activities.

Furthermore, the council reviewed observations regarding the completion of the center's infrastructure work in coordination with the engineering department and emphasized the need to expedite all work to ensure the center's full operation in the near future.
