Ain Shams University participated with a student delegation in the activities of the “Qiyam” Forum for students at Egyptian universities and institutes, organized by the Leadership Preparation Institute in cooperation with the Student Activities Sector, from March 2 to 4, 2026, under the patronage of Prof. Abdel Aziz Konsowa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The participation of Ain Shams University students comes under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, and Prof. Rami Maher Ghali, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, with administrative coordination and supervision by Mr. Ibrahim Saeed Hamza, Assistant Secretary-General of the University for the Education and Student Affairs Sector.
The participation was organized through the Cultural Activity Department of the General Administration of Youth Welfare, where the university was represented by a delegation consisting of two male students, two female students, and a supervisor, in addition to the attendance of 60 students at a dialogue session with the Grand Mufti of Egypt.

The forum is held under the supervision of Dr. Karim Hammam, Advisor to the Minister for Student Activities and Director of the Leadership Preparation Institute, in cooperation with the Supreme Council of Universities. It reflects the strategy of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research aimed at investing in youth as the cornerstone of building the New Republic and strengthening the role of student activities in shaping the awareness of younger generations and developing their personalities.
The forum brings together students from Ain Shams University with peers from public, private, technological, and national universities, as well as Egyptian institutes, within an integrated program that combines national awareness, civic education, and the promotion of a sense of belonging, alongside the development of leadership and social skills.
The program includes a diverse range of activities such as dialogue sessions, educational meetings, specialized workshops, and various sports, cultural, and artistic activities that contribute to fostering teamwork and collective engagement.
The forum also featured an opening session and a series of lectures addressing the pillars of the National Strategy for Combating Drugs and Investment in Prevention, in addition to workshops focused on developing social initiatives and educational sessions aimed at reinforcing values and enhancing youth awareness in line with contemporary challenges.
Among the highlights of the event was a dialogue session with Dr. Nazir Ayad, the Grand Mufti of Egypt, titled “Values and the Formation of Youth Awareness,” emphasizing the importance of enlightened religious discourse in supporting national identity, promoting moderation and balance, and strengthening rational awareness based on a sound understanding of religious and national values.
The “Qiyam” Forum reflects the vision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in promoting the concept of the university as an integrated system that extends beyond academic education to include the development of balanced national personalities, contributing to the preparation of qualified graduates who combine knowledge with values and are capable of actively participating in achieving sustainable development goals.
