The Faculty of Agriculture at Ain Shams University participated in all activities of the First Afro-Arab Agricultural Tournament, which was held at the Faculty of Agriculture – Cairo University, with the participation of 24 delegations (16 delegations from Egyptian public universities and institutes, in addition to 8 delegations from African and Arab countries), during the period from January 28 to February 5, 2026.
The participation took place under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University; Prof. Rami Maher Ghali, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Walaa Mohamed Abdel Ghani El-Sayed, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture; Prof. Manal Mubarak, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; with coordination and administrative supervision by Mr. Ibrahim Said Hamza, Assistant Secretary-General of the University for Education and Student Affairs.
The student delegation participating in the activities of the Student Union of the Faculty of Agriculture at Ain Shams University, consisting of 52 male and female students, took part under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Marwan, Student Activities Coordinator at the Faculty, and Mr. Abu Bakr Talaat, Director of Youth Welfare at the Faculty, with student leadership and follow-up of Student Union activities by student Mohamed Salah Saad, President of the Student Union of the Faculty of Agriculture. The supervisors included Hossam El-Din Mohamed, Yasser Mahmoud, Elham Mostafa, Ibrahim Atiya, Ezza Farouk, Ezza Abdel Hamid, and Shams Ahmed.
The participation of the faculty’s students was marked by a strong and distinguished presence across the various activities, in an atmosphere characterized by sportsmanship and fair competition, as they presented an honorable model reflecting the standing of Ain Shams University.
This achievement was crowned by securing third place overall among Egyptian, African, and Arab universities.
The Faculty of Agriculture at Ain Shams University won 27 medals, distributed as follows:
12 Gold medals
6 Silver medals
9 Bronze medals
In addition to three cups and a shield of excellence.
