Within the framework of Ain Shams University's community role and its commitment to actively contributing to community development and environmental service, the Community Service and Environmental Development Council reviewed the sector's most prominent activities and events during its regular meeting. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, and attended by the deans and vice deans of the faculties responsible for the sector, as well as Major General Hossam El-Sherbiny, Assistant Secretary of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development.
Prof. Ghada Farouk opened the session by congratulating the Faculty of Engineering on winning third place in the Egypt Government Excellence Award. She also commended the efforts of the Faculties of Computer and Information Sciences and Medicine for qualifying among the top ten faculties in the Government Excellence Award, as well as the university's website for ranking among the top ten websites.

Prof. Ghada Farouk then discussed Ain Shams University's efforts in implementing comprehensive development convoys in the governorates of Qena and Sohag, and the Halaib and Shalateen regions. These convoys were conducted in partnership with several organizations, including the Egyptian Red Crescent, the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development, and the Life Makers Foundation, in cooperation with the Faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Nursing.
Her Excellency then reviewed Ain Shams University's activities in supporting the visual identity of Qena Governorate, a project implemented by professors from the Faculty of Engineering under the supervision of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector.
The council was also briefed on the support and cooperation provided by the Ministry of Social Solidarity to the Childhood Center, aimed at serving people with disabilities, which contributes to developing the services provided and promoting the concepts of social inclusion.
The council reviewed a number of community and environmental initiatives implemented within the university, most notably the carbon footprint initiative, in addition to initiatives supporting environmental sustainability and raising climate awareness.
The council also discussed the status of specialized units and their role in supporting community service and environmental development activities. Additionally, they reviewed completed training courses, examining the data for each course and its alignment with the sector's plan and community needs.
At the conclusion of the session, a proposal was made to organize a series of awareness-raising and cultural seminars and events to enhance Ain Shams University's community and developmental role.
