Ain Shams University Continues to Win Medals at the 53rd El-Refaai Martyr Tournament for Egyptian Universities

Ain Shams University teams continue their remarkable performance in the 53rd edition of the El-Refaai Martyr Egyptian Universities Tournament, which serves as a simulation of the African Universities Games, under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, and Prof. Rami Maher Ghali, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs. The event is administratively coordinated and supervised by Mr. Ibrahim Saeed Hamza, Assistant Secretary-General of the University for the Education and Student Affairs Sector and implemented by the Sports Activity Department of the General Administration for Youth Welfare.

During the competitions held on 28 and 29 January, Ain Shams University teams succeeded in winning many medals in judo, karate, and athletics, achieving a total of:

  • 13 gold medals
  • 10 silver medals
  • 6 bronze medals

The award ceremony for the Judo Championship, held at the indoor hall of the Sports Activity Department at the General Administration for Youth Welfare at Ain Shams University, was attended by several leaders of the Egyptian Universities Sports Federation, including:

  • Prof. Ahmed Emad Ragab, Assistant Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Student Life and Vice President of the Egyptian Universities and Higher Institutes Sports Federation.
  • Prof. Ahmed Kamel Mahdi, Secretary-General of the Egyptian Universities Sports Federation.
  • Dr. Mamdouh Sayed Ahmed, Executive Director of the Egyptian Universities Sports Federation.

The attendees praised the excellent organization and warm reception, commending the efforts of those in charge of the General Administration for Youth Welfare, and affirming that the level of organization reflects the name and standing of Ain Shams University on the Egyptian university sports scene.
