At the conclusion of the university’s major celebration titled “Ain Shams University: National Leadership Shaping the Future, The Grand Egyptian Museum: A Pivotal Role and Enduring Contributions,” Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University; Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Prof. Rami Maher Ghali, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, honored the participants in the celebration. The late Professor Ahmed Hussein, Professor of Mechanical Engineering and the originator of the idea to transport the statue of Ramses II in an upright position, was also posthumously honored in recognition of his scientific and national contributions.
Those honored included Prof. Mamdouh El-Damaty, Emeritus Professor of Archaeology and Ancient Egyptian Civilization at the Faculty of Archaeology, Ain Shams University; Prof. Fathallah Mohamed El-Nahas, Emeritus Professor of Geotechnical Engineering and Foundations in the Department of Structural Engineering, Faculty of Engineering; Prof. Yasser Mansour, Emeritus Professor in the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, and General Coordinator of the Grand Egyptian Museum Project; Prof. Tamer El-Nady, Professor of Acoustics, Faculty of Engineering; Prof. Mostafa Rostom Ahmed Attia, Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering; Prof. Ahmed Fathy Abdel Aziz, Emeritus Professor in the Department of Structural Engineering and Material Properties, Faculty of Engineering; Dr. Tamer Hanafy Radwan, Assistant Professor in the Department of Structural Engineering, Faculty of Engineering; Prof. Mohamed El-Banna, Professor of Engineering Physics and Nanoelectronics, Faculty of Engineering; and Prof. Susan El-Qallini, Media Advisor to the President of the University.
