The President of Ain Shams University Receives A Delegation from the University of Texas to Discuss Prospects for Joint Cooperation

Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, received a high-level delegation from the University of Texas, USA, to discuss avenues of joint cooperation between the two universities in various medical and clinical fields.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Tarek Youssef, Executive Director of Ain Shams University Hospitals; Prof. Tarek Mohamed Youssef, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Postgraduate Studies and Research; and Dr. Shereen Fawaz, Director of International Cooperation at the Faculty of Medicine.

         
   
         

At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen welcomed the American delegation, emphasizing the university’s commitment to strengthening its international partnerships with leading global institutions, which contributes to the development of educational and research programs and opens broader horizons for students and researchers across disciplines.

He highlighted the distinguished capabilities of the Faculty of Medicine and Ain Shams University Hospitals, both in human resources and infrastructure, which enable them to serve large numbers of patients. He noted that Ain Shams Medical City represents one of the university’s most important national projects, aimed at providing comprehensive, high-quality healthcare services in line with global infection control and quality standards. The medical city is also equipped with the latest medical technologies, supported by regular maintenance and continuous training to enhance the efficiency of medical and nursing teams.

The discussions also addressed the Ain Shams Virtual Hospital and its vital role in advancing medical education and training for students and physicians using cutting-edge simulation and digital learning technologies, providing a safe and realistic learning environment that enhances graduates’ competencies and prepares them for the global medical labor market.

Both sides explored opportunities for collaboration in scientific research, particularly in advanced medical and applied studies aimed at developing practical solutions to contemporary health challenges. They stressed the importance of research exchange and joint programs that enhance the quality of scientific output and serve both the Egyptian and American communities.

The University of Texas delegation expressed its appreciation for the warm welcome and praised Ain Shams University’s rich history and leading position in higher education and scientific research in Egypt and the region.

The two sides also discussed future cooperation prospects in the fields of medical training, research, and knowledge exchange, affirming their mutual commitment to continued communication and coordination.
