Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University; Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs; Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research; and Prof. Farid Moharram El-Garhy, Dean of the Faculty of Business at Ain Shams University, the faculty organized a national symposium entitled “October… One Generation Led, Another Carries the Legacy Forward.”

The symposium, held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, in the Prof. Ali Lotfy Hall at the Faculty of Business, was part of Ain Shams University’s celebrations of the glorious October victories. It aimed to embody the values of heroism and national belonging and to evoke the enduring spirit of the October triumph, which remains a symbol of sacrifice, determination, and the commitment to continue building the nation, generation after generation.
The symposium witnessed a distinguished and extensive attendance, including:
Major General (Res.) Dr. Mohamed Abdullah El-Shahawy – Former Chief of Staff of the Chemical Warfare Department, Advisor to the College of Leaders and Staff, and Member of the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs.
Major General Dr. Alaa Ezz El-Din Mansour – Former Director of the Strategic Studies Center of the Armed Forces.
Artist Tarek El-Dessouky – Renowned Egyptian artist.
Prof. Gehan Ragab – Professor of Marketing, Advisor to the Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Secretary of the Permanent Scientific Committee for Promotions in the Business Administration Department.
Prof. Mohamed Morsi Khudair – Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.
A distinguished group of faculty staff, teaching assistants, staff, and many students from the faculty and university.

During the celebration, Major General (Res.) Dr. Mohamed Abdullah El-Shahawy delivered an inspiring national vision, highlighting the heroic achievements of the Egyptian Armed Forces in the glorious October War, and emphasizing the profound strategic and military lessons learned from this immortal epic.
Major General Dr. Alaa Ezz El-Din Mansour, in his speech, addressed the importance of instilling discipline and dedication in the new generations, stressing the need to pass the legacy of victory from the pioneering generation to the future generation.
Artist Tarek El-Dessouky highlighted the national role of authentic art in promoting values of patriotism and love for the homeland, emphasizing that artistic expression should always support noble national and humanitarian values.
Prof. Farid Moharram El-Garhy delivered a speech underscoring the Faculty of Commerce’s commitment to fostering national awareness among students and supporting student activities that combine knowledge, thought, and patriotism, reflecting the university’s firm belief in its role in developing conscious individuals capable of continuing the path of contribution and facing future challenges.
At the conclusion of the event, the Dean of the Faculty presented the Faculty of Commerce Shield in honor of the distinguished guests, in recognition of their exceptional participation and efforts in enriching this national gathering, which successfully strengthened the connection between generations.
